Stellar Photo Recovery tool lets users add new file headers to its built-in database, thus allowing customized support for additional file formats. This unique feature helps you to restore file types that earlier remained unrecognized.

Hence, If you need to restore a file type that is not available in the Stellar Photo Recovery database, you can include that particular file header by following the below steps. After that, the software will recognize your included file type and restore all media files of that particular type.
Steps to Add New Header Type For Recovery:

  • Open Stellar Photo Recovery software on your Windows or Mac Computer.
  • On the left menu, click on ‘ Add Raw File Formats’ under Settings section.

  • Click the ‘Add File Type’ button and select ‘Add file type using sample files’.

  • Keep at least 10 sample files of your custom photo file type. You can add them manually by clicking on the (+ Plus) sign.

Note: If you add less than 10 files, the software will prompt you to add more sample files, as shown in the below message.

  • Once you’ve uploaded 10 sample files, click ‘Next’.
  • Also, you can edit your scan preference for the file types. Like - Minimum File Size, and File Group.

  • For a customized scan, you can deselect other photo file type or header from the list to skip scanning for them.

  • Next, start the photo file recovery scan. The software will now look for your custom file type and help you recover those files instantly.
